Job Description
Role Overview

The Carpenter will use woodworking skills to build and repair various furniture pieces. Collaborates with employees concerning furniture build job orders, prints, and sketches to understand the furniture piece that needs to be built or repaired. Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.

What You Will Do

Operates all necessary tools to complete a job including table saw, planer, joiner, drill and nail gun. Removes debris and possible hazards to keep construction site clean and safe. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Why It Might Be a Fit

5+ years of furniture building experience, completion of formal apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience. Thorough understanding of the correct and safe operation of all related tools and equipment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of furniture building experience
  • Completion of formal apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience
  • Thorough understanding of the correct and safe operation of all related tools and equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to draw accurate sketches to communicate the specifications for projects
  • Ability to take accurate measurements and calculations
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds at a time
  • Ability to squat, lift, stretch, and bend in order to reach all areas of the facility
  • Ability to work in and on overhead structures, as well as below machinery
