Job Description
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Carpenter 2 to work at Pickaway Correctional Institution. The Carpenter 2 will work under direction and require considerable knowledge of carpentry trade, hand and power tool operation, and blueprint reading. The role involves serving as a lead worker, designing and installing wood products, making repairs and alterations to buildings, and performing other maintenance and miscellaneous duties.

Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of carpentry trade, hand and power tool operation, and blueprint reading
  • 18 months training or experience in carpentry work
  • 1 course or 3 months experience in blueprint reading
  • 1 course or 3 months experience in hand and power tool operation
  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages, and in reading and writing common English vocabulary
