Job Description
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Carpenter 2 to work at the Richland Correctional Institution. The ideal candidate will have 18 months of training or experience in carpentry work, 1 course or 3 months of experience in blueprint reading, and 1 course or 3 months of experience in hand and power tool operation. The Carpenter 2 will work under direction and provide work direction and training to lower level carpenters and incarcerated individuals. They will also design, fabricate, repair, and install wood products, and perform rough and finished carpentry work.

Requirements

  • 18 months of training or experience in carpentry work
  • 1 course or 3 months of experience in blueprint reading
  • 1 course or 3 months of experience in hand and power tool operation
  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages, and in reading and writing common English vocabulary
