Role OverviewAs a Carrier Development Representative, you will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and developing strong business relationships with service providers to achieve maximum profitability and customer satisfaction, while upholding Redwood's standard of operational excellence. You will work within our freight brokerage, expanding knowledge of the transportation industry, building and maintaining strategic carrier profiles, and negotiating freight rates to maximize profitability.
What You Will Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include actively engaging carrier partners by phone, targeting 80+ dials per day, building understanding of macro-market conditions, and learning to negotiate freight rates to motor carriers. You will also track and monitor shipments, verify freight charges, and resolve payables discrepancies prior to final payment to motor carriers.
