Role OverviewThe CDL A Local Driver is responsible for transporting, loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner between our Service Centers and our customers. The driver will perform pre and post trip inspections, document freight control processes, and interact with customers. The driver will also participate in training and improvement programs and adhere to operational procedures and guidelines.
What You Will Do
The main day-to-day responsibilities of the CDL A Local Driver include safely operating a commercial motor vehicle, performing physical tasks associated with driving, equipment inspections, and local pick-up and delivery operations. The driver will also handle freight and delivery equipment, and use powered tools or devices.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This position requires a valid Class A CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsement, at least 2 years of commercial driving experience, and basic math skills. The driver must also be able to pass a drug screen and be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Requirements
- At least 23 years of age
- At least 2 years of commercial driving experience
- Valid Class A CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsement
- Valid DOT Physical/Medical Card
- No DUI, Citation/Conviction for Reckless Operations in the past 3 years
- Less than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
- Basic math skills
- Fluent in English
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Able to pass a drug screen
