Role OverviewThe Support CDL Driver fills in on open or unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations. This role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules based on business needs while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards.
What You Will Do
Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned route based on business needs, assist drivers with daily morning duties, deliver and pick up freight, inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle, collect payments, verify the content of pickups on shipping papers, and notify management of any problems or discrepancies.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must possess good customer service and organizational skills, ability to operate a manual transmission, and must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR successfully complete Company paid CDL training program
- Ability to pass a DOT physical
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
- Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
