Role OverviewThe CDL Driver Trainer will be responsible for all driver training functions for the CDL training program at Forsyth Tech Community College. The trainer will have proven longevity in the field, excellent communication skills, and possess demonstrated physical, intellectual, and leadership ability to perform duties over the road, maneuvering range, and in classroom instruction.
What You Will Do
The trainer will promote and maintain a positive learning environment, convene classes, maintain a safe environment, and adhere to federal, state, and accreditation/compliance rules and regulations. The trainer will also deliver instructional material, administer written tests, and evaluate grades.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have 3 years of verifiable on-the-road experience, a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and excellent communication and presentation skills. The candidate will also be able to maintain a valid Medical Examiner Certificate and pass DOT drug tests upon hire and on an ongoing basis.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of verifiable on-the-road experience within the last 5 years
- MVR and background check, which includes a drug screening
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and DOT drug screen
- Ability to maintain a valid Medical Examiner Certificate and pass DOT drug tests upon hire and on an ongoing basis
