Role OverviewUnder general supervision and according to established procedures, transports patients, mail, medical records, laboratory specimens, equipment and patient related materials to all areas within the Hospital complex. Operates service elevators and maintains transport vehicles according to procedure.
What You Will Do
Transports patients by wheelchair or stretcher to areas within the hospital complex as assigned. Collects and distributes laboratory specimens, medical records, x-rays, lab reports, prescriptions, medications, mail, and interdepartmental correspondence. Moves equipment on wheels and other moderately heavy equipment and materials. Maintains a written log of all assignments.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Requires the level of education normally attained in secondary school courses and verbal skills to understand English instructions. Physical ability to stand and walk almost continuously, and to lift, carry and push patients and moderately heavy materials. Pay range is $19.75-$20.15 per hour.

- Visual acuity to check name bracelets, envelopes, etc. to ensure proper delivery
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process
