Role OverviewThe Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will work at Duke Urgent Care Knightdale, a dedicated urgent care clinic providing comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and adults with minor injuries and illnesses. The CMA will assist with clinical and administrative tasks, including collecting medical histories, monitoring vital signs, explaining treatments to patients, and preparing them for exams and procedures.
What You Will Do
The CMA will perform clinical responsibilities such as collecting medical histories, monitoring vital signs, explaining treatments to patients, and preparing them for exams and procedures. They will also assist with administrative tasks such as greeting patients, answering calls, scheduling appointments, and handling referral scheduling.

Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant certification is required prior to beginning position.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is strongly preferred.
- High school or GED graduation is required.
- No experience required for Level I, at least 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting for Level II, and at least 3 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting for Level III.
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
- BLS required.
