Role OverviewAssist physicians with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Responsible for appointment scheduling, chart management, and patient information. May be assigned to a specific medical specialty.
What You Will Do
Fulfills patient care responsibilities, including checking schedules, accompanying patients, assisting with patient history, performing screenings, and charting. Performs clerical responsibilities, such as sending/receiving patient medical records, and environmental responsibilities, such as setting up instruments and equipment.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must be able to maintain Certified Medical Assistant status, have a high school diploma, and some college preferred. Must have a minimum of one-year work experience in a public contact job, preferably service related, and experience in healthcare or a practice setting.
Requirements
- Maintain Certified Medical Assistant status thru American Association of Medical Assistants
- Maintain CPR certification
- Knowledge of health care field and medical specialty
- Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to particular medical specialty
- Skill in performing tasks appropriately
- Skill in tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions
- Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures
- Ability to project a pleasant and professional image
- Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others
