Job Description
Administer medications to participants as ordered by the physician per medication script, under the direction of the registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. Prepare, administer, and document medications, verify medication supplies, and provide medical transportation.
Requirements
Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document medications
Verify that no medication is administered without a written, signed, and dated order from an attending licensed physician
Verify that adequate supply of stock medications, supplies, and equipment is on hand to meet the nursing needs of the participants
Follow facility policies and procedures regarding the destruction of medications
Provide medical transportation of residents to appointments
Schedule medical appointments, as requested
Obtain medication from the pharmacy and distribute to residences
