Certified Medication Aide- PRN

Requirements

• Knowledge of assisted living policies and procedures regarding medication management
• Current knowledge of state and federal rules regarding medication administration
• Ability to accurately read and follow medication orders and labels
• Ability to accurately transpose medication orders to the MAR and make corrections
• Follows Six Rights of Medication Administration
• Ability to identify concerns related to medication orders and takes appropriate actions
• Ability to recognize possible medication side effects or adverse reactions and takes appropriate actions
• Knowledge of medications that unlicensed staff may never provide assistance with or administer
• Ability to monitor resident medication quantities and supplies
• Ability to make arrangements for timely procurement of refills and new medications
• Ability to document assistance and administration of medications accurately
• Ability to report and document medication errors and resident changes in condition
• Ability to use good judgment in seeking assistance as needed
• Ability to obtain and document resident vital signs and medication effectiveness
• Ability to monitor medications for accountability and verify orders and receipts
• Ability to communicate effectively with direct care partners and other team members
