Role Overview

The Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) is responsible for providing residents with their medications according to physician orders. This position has the responsibility of setting up medication for residents and providing medication under the direction and monitoring of a licensed nurse.

What You Will Do

Record and document all medication, treatment and care provided for residents. Take and record vital signs of residents. Prepare monthly summaries and may take off physician orders and prepares chart for new residents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum one year working with the geriatric population.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification and Certified nursing aide licensure required by state regulations.
  • Have and maintain medication aide licensure per state requirements.
