Certified Sterile Processing Technician Float Pool

The role involves working in a sterile supply operation, ensuring proper wrapping for aseptic technique, and operating complex sterilization equipment.

What You Will Do

The primary responsibilities of this role include selecting appropriate materials and sterilization packaging, operating complex sterilization equipment, reviewing and signing sterilizer recording charts, and monitoring sterilizer printouts.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1+ years of related experience, and certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT).

• Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements.
• Ability to understand the needs of the customer and respond to them in a pro-active, courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
• Ability to work under stress and deadlines.
• Medical terminology.
• Understanding of the principles of microbiology, aseptic principles and techniques, and infection control as they apply to sterile supply operation.
• Basic knowledge of prevention of cross contamination and the critical nature of nosocomial infections.
• Knowledge of the use, operation, maintenance, assembly, disassembly and cleaning requirements of the full range of instruments and equipment.
• Ability and experience with computer systems.
