Role OverviewA First Assistant Practitioner must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to function as a first assistant under the direct and/or indirect supervision of a Surgeon.
What You Will Do
Perform First Assistant role in surgery, including on-call responsibilities and Endo Vascular Vein Harvest techniques.

The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.
Requirements
- Graduate approved Surgical Technologist School
- Completion First Assistant Course
- Documentation/demonstrated knowledge and skills required to perform First Assistant role in surgery
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward
