Role Overview

As a Chassis, Active Safety, Durability Technician, you will be responsible for executing testing and instrumentation activities for Chassis, Active Safety, and Durability programs. You will work in a testing team and be responsible for performing initial parts set-up, executing vehicle maintenance and component retrofits, and maintaining and monitoring test facility conditions.

What You Will Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing initial parts set-up, executing vehicle maintenance and component retrofits, maintaining and monitoring test facility conditions, executing driving cycles, installing sensors and data acquisition, diagnosing and troubleshooting defects, and organizing and creating labels of tests' samples.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma; two-year technical degree or prior trade experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a testing environment
  • Automotive technical knowledge of main vehicle component functions and behavior
  • Skill in using hand tools (wrenches, sockets), power tools (pneumatic/impact wrenches), and precision instruments like torque wrenches and dial indicators to meet exact manufacturer specifications
  • Experience with sensors installation, data acquisition instrumentation and objective vehicle testing is an asset
  • Knowledge of the operation of computers with various software applications including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes in projects and a continuously evolving industry
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be able to work within and across various company departments
