Role OverviewThe Chef Instructor is responsible for teaching culinary skills to a diverse group of individuals as part of a food bank training program aimed at increasing individual self-sufficiency. The Instructor will create menus and training instruction based on food availability and teach a high level of food handling standards.
What You Will Do
The Chef Instructor will manage a clean, well-maintained, and organized kitchen, instruct students in basic sanitation and culinary arts skills, ensure safe food handling procedures, and maintain on-going temperature logs in cooler and freezer. The Instructor will also provide knife skill and cooking demonstrations for basic culinary techniques and assist in developing curriculum and class calendar.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of work-related experience or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience in a Food Service Management Role. The ideal candidate will be able to formulate long-term planning and execution, meet given deadlines, and work one-on-one with struggling students.
