Role OverviewThe chemical room operator is responsible for managing the chemical room and its products used in sanitation activities to ensure the plant is cleaned and sanitized to achieve high cleanliness levels and maintain product integrity according to the Company’s and USDA’s standards.
What You Will Do
Manage product inventory, storage, mixing, and monitoring of chemicals used in the sanitation process, perform simple titration checks, troubleshoot issues with chemicals, equipment, and the overall process.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Collaborate with plant management on improving systems and processes, adhere to food safety and workplace safety policies and procedures, ensure corrective actions are taken when an issue is identified.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, chemistry, microbiology or a related field or equivalent or laboratory experience in a food manufacturing facility
- Strong knowledge of chemical and mechanical systems and processes
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations, including those specific to the protein industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with sanitation management software and MS Office applications
