Mercor connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs. We are seeking a Chemistry PhD - Scientific Expert to join our team as a Contract position for 6 months, with a commitment of 40 hours/week, fully onsite in San Francisco.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent research experience in chemistry or a closely related field
  • Strong scientific reasoning to assess correctness and rigor of chemistry-related claims and model outputs
  • Hands-on technical fluency with datasets, notebooks, Python, LLMs, and scientific software
  • Ability to commit to 40 hours/week, fully onsite in San Francisco for 6 months
  • Strong written communication skills to explain scientific decisions clearly
