Role OverviewThe Chief Development Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for planning, management, implementation, and evaluation of Agency efforts involving the Board, leadership development, fundraising, and marketing. The Chief Development Officer is a member of the JFS Senior Management Team and seeks opportunities to integrate development efforts within all areas of the Agency.
What You Will Do
Develops orientation sessions for new members, education and fundraising training for new and current JFS Board members, attends regularly scheduled Board of Trustee Meetings, and plans the Board and Executive Committee yearly calendar. Oversees all Agency fundraising, donor cultivation and stewardship, and supervises development staff.

Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, public policy communications, or related field
- Master’s Degree preferred
- 7-10+ years of senior-level experience in fundraising, corporate development, or non-profit management
- Exceptional public speaking and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- A record of success in raising money by creating and/or expanding a culture of major gift philanthropy
- Leadership experience and proven ability to think strategically and create competitive, breakthrough philanthropic approaches
- Strong ability to analyze data, manage department budgets, and forecast financial trends
