Role Overview

The Lead Teacher is responsible for administering child care programs at designated YMCA program sites. This responsibility includes creating and implementing lesson plans, maintaining site records, and additional program responsibilities to ensure state licensure compliance and overall effective program management.

What You Will Do

Maintain safety of children, implement age-appropriate techniques, plan and develop lesson plans, complete and submit reports, maintain a file system, provide coverage of program, notify supervisor of parent concerns, and ensure daily cleaning and maintenance of space/facility.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years working in a licensed childcare program, previous experience working with diverse populations, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Certification in CPR at the level of Basic Life Support or Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Administration
  • Minimum 2 years working in a licensed childcare program
  • Previous experience working with diverse populations
  • Minimum 1-year experience working with Microsoft office products
  • Minimum 1 years' experience with all ODJFS licensing procedures and Step Up to Quality requirements
