Role OverviewThe Child Care Monitor I will conduct planned activities for the Before and After School Care on-site program to ensure a safe and enriching experience for participants. The role involves supervising children, maintaining standards, and promoting activities in compliance with school policies. The Child Care Monitor I will also interact with parents, report incidents, and participate in training programs to enhance skills and proficiency.
What You Will Do
Directly supervise or facilitate activities, provide direct supervision of play areas and children's activities, evaluate activities and scheduling, and assist in procuring equipment and cleanup of supplies.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have experience working with school-age children in a group supervision setting, possess strong communication skills, and be able to maintain a cooperative relationship with staff members. The Child Care Monitor I will also be required to complete BASCC Comprehensive Child Care Components I and II within the first year of employment.
Requirements
- Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program
- Volunteer work, experience, and/or training working with school-age children in a group supervision setting
- Completion of BASCC Comprehensive Child Care Components I and II within the first year of employment
- Completion of Florida Department of Children and Families (My Florida) three modules within the first year of employment
- At least 10 hours of approved BASCC Child Care training every year of employment
- Computer skills as needed for the position
- Age 18 or older
