Job Description
We're excited to have you consider this opportunity with WVU Medicine Golisano Children's Hospital. As a Child Life Specialist-Non-Certified, you will assess the emotional, developmental, educational and diversionary needs of hospitalized children and coordinate therapeutic interventions to address medical, procedural, surgical and diagnostic experiences. You will also plan and implement programs and services to meet the needs of assigned clinical populations and the child life department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, Psychology or related field
  • Completion of a 600-hour Child Life Internship
  • Certification through the Association for Child Life Professionals (ACLP) within 9 months of hire
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date
  • Professional child life experience in a hospital environment strongly preferred
