Role OverviewThe Citywide Interagency Coordinator works within the Response Division of New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM), providing expertise in Emergency Management during emergency responses and recovery operations. They respond promptly and safely to citywide incidents and events, communicate clearly with NYCEM command elements, and facilitate on-scene Interagency Meetings. The Coordinator supports multiagency responses and disaster mitigation, response, and recovery while in the field.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include providing expertise in Emergency Management, responding to incidents and events, communicating with command elements, facilitating on-scene Interagency Meetings, and identifying and reporting the need for additional resources. The Coordinator will also work for extended periods in field environments, utilize complex communications and mobile command equipment, and perform duties based on individual experience and knowledge.

Requirements
- four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent
- six years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in emergency management, fire, police, or military service, public safety, public health, public administration, urban planning, engineering, or another specialized area
- valid driver's license
- ability to travel independently to assigned locations and operate a City fleet vehicle
