Role Overview

Join our Discipline team in Austin, Texas, as a Civil Design Technician with 6+ years of experience. The role involves implementing drafting and plan preparation standards, developing technical drawings and plans, and maintaining a drawing database. The successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of Autodesk or Bentley products and strong work ethic, interpersonal communication, and writing skills.

What You Will Do

The person in this position will make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity, perform multifaceted calculations, and supervise and train CAD staff. They will also develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred)
  • Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products
  • Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills, and desire to learn
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Willingness to mentor and teach others
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
