Role OverviewThe primary responsibility of this role is to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The driver will support local transportation operations based in the Front Royal/Winchester area and be assigned to a regular shift.
What You Will Do
The driver will be responsible for operating 53' dry van or reefer operations, as well as intermodal containers. They will also be responsible for communicating issues related to the condition of company trucks and trailers, filling out and submitting required paperwork, and adhering to safety rules and regulations.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This role requires a Class A CDL holder with a good driving record and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects. The driver must also be able to read and write well enough to understand and complete required documentation. The role offers a competitive pay rate of 59.5 cents/mile and/or $22-24.00/hr.
Requirements
- Minimum H.S. degree preferred
- Current CDL-A with a driving record acceptable to company insurance carrier
- Current Medical Examiners Certificate
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 75 pounds at shoulder height
- Ability to read and write well enough to understand and complete required documentation
- Ability to enter and exit truck cab safely and repeatedly during the work shift
- Ability to crank landing gear, operate 5th wheel release, connect air/electrical lines without difficulty and repeatedly during work shifts
- Ability to properly secure loads using provided straps and other equipment
- Ability to repeatedly open & close trailer & shipping container doors throughout the workday
