Class Size Bilingual Teaching Assistant

The Class Size Bilingual Teacher Assistant will assist in the instruction of pupils and perform related duties under the supervision of a teacher. The role requires bilingual skills, good knowledge of grammar and spelling, and the ability to work with school-aged children. The Class Size Bilingual Teacher Assistant will be held accountable for various responsibilities, including supervising students during lunch and playground activities, assisting teachers with preparing bulletin boards, and operating audiovisual equipment.

What You Will Do

The Class Size Bilingual Teacher Assistant will assist in the supervision of students during lunch and playground activities, assist teachers with preparing bulletin boards, operate audiovisual equipment, provide tutoring services to students, and assist in collecting and grading students' homework assignments.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school (or G.E.D. equivalent)
• Certification Requirements: Must possess a valid TASN (NCLB) paraprofessional license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
• Good knowledge of proper grammar and spelling in English and at least one other language, basic knowledge of mathematics, and knowledge of Chicago Public Schools rules and regulations.
• Ability to work with and for school-aged children, follow written and oral instructions, operate basic office equipment, and communicate effectively with the public.
