Role OverviewThe Class Size Teacher will be responsible for instructional planning, providing written lesson plans, and maintaining accurate records of pupils' achievements. They will also establish and maintain reasonable rules of conduct within the classroom and on school grounds. The teacher will be held accountable for the progress and discipline of all pupils in assigned classes.
What You Will Do
The Class Size Teacher will implement instructional methods, including applying contemporary principles of learning theory and teaching methodology. They will also participate in programs to improve student attendance, promote anti-vandalism programs, and maintain accurate attendance records.
Why It Might Be a Fit
To be successful, the Class Size Teacher must possess knowledge of subject matter, contemporary principles and practice of teaching, and classroom and behavior management techniques. They must also be able to modify instruction to meet student needs and work effectively with pupils, parents, and community representatives.
Requirements
- Successful completion of all student teaching requirements and coursework required to obtain the appropriate teaching certificate(s) issued by the Illinois State Board of Education
- Possess at least one of the following valid teaching licenses issued by the Illinois State Board of Education: a Professional Educator License (PEL), an Educator License with Stipulations (ELS)
