Role Overview

The Clinic Nurse (LPN/RN) is responsible for demonstrating knowledge and application of job duties within scope of practice and functions under the direction of their manager(s) and/or Director(s). The nurse will provide direct nursing care during assigned duty hours, participate in department activities, and promote independence. The nurse will also adhere to the attendance policy, encourage socialization, and advocate for the quality of life of our patients while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards.

What You Will Do

The nurse will perform various duties such as preparing patient rooms, calibrating PFT sensors, escorting patients to treatment rooms, assisting with skin testing and other procedures, and preparing medications. The nurse will also perform pulmonary function testing, FeNO testing, and peak flow monitoring, as well as patient education regarding medications and environmental control.

To be successful in this role, the nurse must have effective communication skills, including the ability to fluently speak and read English, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and patients. The nurse must also be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, handbooks, policies, patient care plans, and procedure manuals.

Requirements

  • LPN: Diploma from an accredited LPN program
  • RN: Associate's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Current, valid, compact LPN or RN license in good standing to practice in the State of Kentucky
  • Current, valid CPR certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years of related nursing experience
