Role Overview

The Clinical Dietitian will display effective nutrition care, apply critical thinking skills, and provide effective communication and education skills in daily practice. Reporting to the Dahms Clinical Research Unit Director of Research Bionutrition, this position supports the bionutrition division of the Dahms Clinical Research Center (DCRU), a core within University Hospitals Clinical Research Unit.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Food & Nutrition (Required) or Bachelor's Degree in Food & Nutrition if established eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians on or before December 31, 2023 (Required)
  • 3+ years Working as a clinical dietitian in a health care facility (may include Supervised Practice Program) (Preferred)
  • Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the State of Ohio (Required Upon Hire)
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (Required Upon Hire)
  • Completion of an ACEND accredited Supervised Practice Program. (Required proficiency)
  • Competent skills to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) & apply the nutrition care process to patient care. (Required proficiency)
  • Competent skills to evaluate and recommend nutrition needs based on the specific combined objective/subjective information for a clinical nutrition assessment. (Required proficiency)
  • Analytical skills to assess patient’s condition & provide appropriate interventions. (Required proficiency)
  • Exhibits appropriate & effective communication/interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients, families, physicians, and other health care professionals. (Required proficiency)
