Clinical Laboratory Assistant- Trainer

Develops and conducts job-specific training programs for employees and students, monitors progress, and reports to manager. May perform waived complexity tests and load specimens on instrumentation for moderate complexity tests.

What You Will Do

Conduct group and one-on-one training sessions, develop and implement training programs, monitor and document employees' competencies, and assist within the department as directed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years directly relevant experience within TriCore Reference Laboratories
• ASCP phlebotomy certification or qualified phlebotomy certificate (if required to train and help cover at Sandia National Labs)
• Prove immunity to Hepatitis B or be immunized or sign a waiver refusing hepatitis immunization
• PPD test conducted not more than 90 days prior to date of hire
• Prove immunity or be eligible to receive rubella, rubeola and varicella immunization (in departments/locations with direct patient contact)
• Basic knowledge and understanding of effective training methodologies
• Ability to effectively deliver training in a group or individual setting
• Ability to develop and maintain standardized, measurable training and competency records
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Effective listening skills
• Effective organizational and time management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Basic PC competency
• Ability to work effectively independently or in a team setting
• Ability to use a variety of mediums for training (lecture, video, handouts, discussion)
• Must be flexible in scheduling
• Valid driver's license
• Good driving record
