Role OverviewThe Clinical Pastoral Education Resident is a clinically in-training minister responsible for providing spiritual care to patients, partners, and team members. They participate as a member of the healthcare team in evaluating spiritual needs and providing interventions under the supervision of a CPE preceptor and CPE educator.

The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Clinical Pastoral Education Resident include providing spiritual care, participating in customer service, and maintaining relationships with diverse individuals.

Requirements
- Undergrad or master’s degree in theological or pastoral field or equivalent
- 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education
- Congregational pastoral experience preferred
- Personal commitment to God
- Personal integrity, emotional stability, sound physical health, and ability to work under stress
- Effectively relate to persons of diverse religious, educational, and cultural backgrounds
- Demonstrate ability to earn respect of nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
