Job Description
This position is part of the acute care pharmacy department and functions as the pharmacy expert on the interdisciplinary Cardiology team. The Cardiology Specialist provides clinical support for patients with advanced heart failure, including those with LVADs, and contributes to consultative services for cardiovascular pharmacotherapy.

Requirements

  • Education: Both PGY1 and PGY2 from an ASHP-accredited residency program
  • 5 years progressive clinical practice experience within specialty with PGY1 from an ASHP-accredited residency program or 8 years progressive clinical practice experience within specialty
  • Computer skills, data entry experience
  • English (speaking, reading, writing). Good general health and stress coping ability.
  • Moderate physical effort: prolonged standing/walking, occasional lifting/carrying (up to 25 lbs.), reaching, bending, crouching, etc.
  • Licenses and Certifications: (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire and (TSBP) REG PHARMACY TECNICIAN Eligible for licensure by Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) is required Upon Hire and (TSBP) REG PHARMACY TECNICIAN - Texas license with TSBP within 30 days of date of hire within 30 Days and (ACLS) ADV CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heat Association (AHA), or American Red Cross (ARC) required for only inpatient positions prior to or within 6 months of employment.
