Role Overview

The Clinical Therapist Unity ACT II Team will provide outpatient psychotherapy either at The Center or in the community. The role involves performing initial screening, intake and assessment, orientation, crisis intervention, counseling, screening, case management, client education, referral, treatment planning, and consultation for clients in the program.

What You Will Do

Provide individual, group, and family therapy for mental health and/or substance use issues using various treatment modalities, including evidence-based practices. Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and mental status examinations. Develop, present and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team, clients and their families as appropriate.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field, and Rhode Island licensure as a LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMHC-A, LMFT, or LMFT-A. Experience in Human Services is preferred, and bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Required
  • Field of Study: Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
  • Experience in Human Services field preferred
  • Rhode Island licensure required: LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMHC-A, LMFT, or LMFT-A; certification as Principal Counselor or Counselor accepted in lieu of licensure
  • Valid driver's license, registration, current inspection sticker, and insured auto required
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
