Role OverviewThe Cloud Software Developer will support NASA's Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) Evolution and Development 3 (EED-3) environment, developing and maintaining cloud-based software and infrastructure that enable scientists and students to discover, transform, update, and improve the quality of Earth Science data.
What You Will Do
Develop, operate, maintain, and enhance software and cloud infrastructure supporting the NASA Earthdata Cloud and EOSDIS capabilities, build innovative tools, design and implement scalable cloud solutions, develop software and scripts, automate infrastructure and operational processes, and ensure adherence to operational agreements.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- At least 3 years of engineering experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with cloud services in an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) or Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment
- In-depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- At least 3 years of programming or scripting experience using Node.js, TypeScript, C++, Bash, Python, Java, or comparable technologies
- Experience supporting infrastructure and operations with DevOps automation and infrastructure-as-code tools
- Ability to analyze cloud infrastructure and define, plan, communicate, and implement technical improvement solutions
- Strong interest in automating processes, building software tools, and creating infrastructure-as-code solutions in a DevOps environment
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with customers, all levels of management, and individual contributors
