Role OverviewThe Unit Director manages the overall daily operations of the Downtown Santa Cruz Clubhouse, with a focus on cultivating a comprehensive, outcome-driven youth development program. They supervise and train staff, manage the facility, develop and manage a site-level budget, and oversee site-level member enrollment, engagement, and data collection.
What You Will Do
Establish and deliver programs, activities, and services that create a positive, outcome-driven Club experience. Ensure a healthy, safe environment with well-maintained facilities, equipment, and supplies. Provide consistent mentorship, coaching, encouragement, and corrective feedback to Clubhouse staff.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a four-year degree, a minimum of five years of work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar setting, and demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and recruitment and retention of key personnel.
Requirements
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of five years of work experience in a Boys & Girls Club, school, or similar setting planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive, supportive relationships and engage effectively with youth members, including handling situations that require intervention
- Working knowledge of budget preparation and management
- Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents, and community leaders
