Role Overview

As a Coax Splicer at Bigham Cable Construction, Inc., you'll work in telecommunications construction, splicing coaxial system networks for communication companies. You'll perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, test and activate equipment, and ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards. You'll work in a field environment, both aerial and underground, and safely navigate working at different heights.

What You Will Do

Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include performing cable upgrades and splicing tasks, testing and activating equipment, ensuring all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards, and documenting work performed through daily production reports.

Why It Might Be a Fit

To be a fit for this role, you'll need to be able to pass a DOT physical exam, have six months of coax splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry, and be able to lift greater than 55 pounds. You'll also need to be able to work in confined spaces, operate heavy machinery, and work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
  • Valid State driver's license
  • DOT physical exam
  • Six months of coax splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry
