Job Description
The Coder 1 – Risk Adjustment is responsible for concurrent clinical documentation review and validation within the risk adjustment timeline for health plan verification. This role focuses on completeness, accuracy, and consistency of provider documentation related to severity of illness and supporting clinical care plan(s). The role also involves communication with providers and updating teams on regulatory changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field (preferred)
  • 2+ years of combined clinical/medical experience
  • 1+ year of Risk Adjustment coding experience or equivalent
  • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding conventions
