Role OverviewThe Coding Inpatient (IP) Trainer/Educator is responsible for training staff on coding concepts and guidelines, and clinical documentation concepts and procedures to ensure accurate and precise coding of the medical record.

Prepare and present education to individuals and Teams to ensure they have the knowledge required to support the highest level of performance.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of acute hospital-based inpatient coding experience, academic preferred, and a strong understanding of CDI concepts.

- 3-5 years of acute hospital-based inpatient coding experience
- academic preferred
- documented progression of leadership capacity based on past experience
- experience creating and delivering educational content
- experience in coding auditing with a deep understanding of CDI concepts
- strong critical thinking skills and the ability to review the medical record to identify possible query opportunities
- knowledge of the elements of disease processes and related procedures
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision
