Combination Building Inspector I

Requirements

• Conducts inspections of commercial and residential construction projects
• Reviews commercial and residential construction plans for compliance with relevant codes and regulations
• Maintains detailed documentation of inspections, violations, actions, plan reviews, and compliance for legal purposes
• Consults with and advises stakeholders on plans, code compliance, interpretations, and related procedures
• Investigates construction-related complaints, issues violation notices, and reports unsafe conditions
• Collaborates with other city agencies on design, licensing, and code requirements
• Recommends improvements to existing codes, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Assists in the investigation of fires, explosions, or hazardous conditions and orders evacuations when necessary
• Actively participates in team functions, meetings, and activities to support team goals
