Role Overview

The Commercial Lender will be responsible for originating, underwriting, and closing commercial loans, managing a loan portfolio, and developing and maintaining relationships with customers and prospects. The role requires a high degree of interaction with various stakeholders, including Chief Business Banking Officer, Business Banking Team Leader, and customers. The Commercial Lender will also be responsible for providing community involvement in roles deemed necessary for future professional growth and maintaining the Bank's image as a Community Bank.

What You Will Do

The Commercial Lender will be responsible for calling on existing customers to retain and expand relationships, developing new customers and prospects, interviewing prospective customers, providing financial consultation and analysis, gathering financial statements, structuring and pricing loans, underwriting loan files, responding to underwriting questions, reviewing loan presentations, approving loans, and actively participating in the Officer Loan Committee.

The Commercial Lender will also be responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all bank records and working within established standards and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business related field
  • Annual commercial loan originations consistently at or above the minimum for their level
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate with Chief Business Banking Officer, Business Banking Team Leader, Business Bankers, bank personnel, customers, prospects, and third parties
  • Ability to work with financial information, analyze data, and use prudent judgment when making decisions
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years in banking, Credit or Lending experience preferred
