Role OverviewThe Commercial Scrap Metal Buyer will be responsible for growing and managing a book of business consisting of Commercial, Industrial and Dealer accounts for both Ferrous (FE) and Non-Ferrous (NF) materials. The buyer will use their exceptional communications and relationship building skills to build, deepen, and support long-lasting relationships with all assigned accounts.
What You Will Do
The responsibilities of a Commercial Buyer include purchasing scrap metals and materials, deepening market share by actively identifying and securing new commercial, industrial, and dealer accounts, and maintaining accurate records for all purchasing, sourcing, prospecting, and follow-up activities.

Requirements
- Associate's degree, Bachelors preferred, related to Sales, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- 4 years Buyer (Account Management) experience in the scrap metals recycling industry
- Strong contract negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to identify and secure new business opportunities
- Experience in the scrap metals recycling industry is preferred
- Demonstrated buying/selling skills and product knowledge
- Ability to generate and qualify leads and close deals
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and to prioritize effectively
- Proficient in MS Office programs
- SAI or similar software experience a plus
