Role OverviewThe Communications Associate will work with the Director of Communications to connect workforce engagement with broader public education, helping New York City constituents understand the vital intersection of labor, public service, and city life. This position will directly impact the lives of over a million New York City public servants and retirees, helping shape how essential health benefits, wellness initiatives, and labor policies are communicated across the entire municipal workforce.
What You Will Do
The Communications Associate will be responsible for drafting communications, writing press releases, statements, talking points, and interview briefings. They will also build communication plans and strategies for internal and external campaigns, track legislative developments, and coordinate communications and messaging alignment with partner City agencies and external government stakeholders.

Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
- Two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above
- At least one year of experience as described in '1' above
