Role Overview

The Communications Specialist will support the Global Markets Communications team in engaging stakeholders and amplifying the program's work in attracting and retaining foreign direct investment, export promotion, commercial diplomacy, and advocacy.

What You Will Do

Create compelling social media, website, and newsletter content, develop and manage a year-round social media calendar, create communication plans and style guides, maintain program websites, design and distribute digital collateral, and monitor engagement metrics.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field, and 6+ years of relevant professional experience. Experience in economic development, international trade, or international affairs is preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field
  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in economic development, international trade, or international affairs preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Hootsuite, GovDelivery, and Drupal desired
  • Graphic design experience, including Adobe Creative Suite and social media graphics
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with government stakeholders
  • Must successfully complete a public trust background check prior to onboarding
