Role Overview

The Community-Based Prevention Specialist will plan, coordinate and implement prevention services to local colleges, agencies, and community members throughout Centennial's 10 county catchment area.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include establishing collaborative relationships, coordinating prevention efforts, delivering evidence-based curriculum, providing information and connections to community resources, and referring community members for behavioral health services.

Requirements

  • Certified Addictions Specialist
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Certified Prevention Specialist II (preferred but not required)
  • Experience in working with diverse communities and agencies in a rural region
  • Knowledge and skill sets directly related to prevention, intervention, and referral for treatment of individuals
  • Experience in public speaking and providing trainings/presentations
  • Ability to adjust to new situations and learn new duties quickly
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to travel within the Center's service area or to other locations as needed
  • Basic computer literacy (e.g. email communication, word processing)
