Role Overview

The Community Engagement Coordinator will be passionate about community outreach, committed to making a meaningful impact, and skilled at communicating effectively with diverse populations in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. This project-based role focuses on fostering community relationships in the East Bay (West Oakland / Alameda), San Jose, and the surrounding Bay Area.

What You Will Do

The ideal candidate will conduct focused community outreach, including house meetings, one-on-one engagement with community members, and stakeholder relationship management. They will promote programs and increase access to resources, inform and educate residents on how to access government sponsored energy efficiency programs, financial aid, and utility bill discounts.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Spanish with the ability to communicate technical program details
  • Experience in community outreach, public engagement, or canvassing
  • Strong communication skills with diverse community members
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow processes accurately
  • Proficient with technology for data entry and communication
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and manage time effectively
  • Available to attend workshops and trainings at various locations in the Bay area
  • Must be able to have predictable and reliable attendance
  • Must be able to work 5 days in-person during office hours at the worksite location
