Job Description
The Center for Health Equity & Community Wellness (CHECW) is seeking five Community Health Workers to work in the Bureau of Bronx Neighborhood Health. The job involves community outreach, education, and engagement, as well as supporting emergency planning and response efforts.

Requirements

  • Work closely with colleagues in the Division of Environmental to become versed on latest climate agency objectives.
  • Participate in Just in Time training with DOHMH divisions that serve as a lead for a local/hyperlocal emergency response.
  • Distribute information and coordinate information sessions to community residents and businesses in response to emergency incidents.
  • Maintain communication with local organizations and stakeholders to ensure alignment in emergency planning and response efforts.
  • Support agency efforts in building resilience in identified communities to mitigate impact from localized emergencies such as legionella outbreaks;
