Role OverviewThe Community Legislative Liaison will serve as a liaison to the Mayor's Office, representing the Department's position on public health issues and coordinating with internal partners. The role will also involve developing and implementing legislative strategies, researching and tracking legislation, and providing staffing and supporting role to the Public Information Office during public health emergency activations.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities will include responding to inquiries from local elected officials, community boards, and the general public, attending and representing the Department at community board meetings, town halls, and public meetings, disseminating public health information to community stakeholders and the public, and participating in public health emergency trainings.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, political, and writing skills, experience working in government and/or intergovernmental/legislative affairs, and an academic background in political science, public policy, public health, or a related field.
Requirements
- baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
- two years of experience in community work or community centered activities
- high school graduation or equivalent
- six years of experience in community work or community centered activities
- education and/or experience equivalent to '1' or '2' above
- at least one year of experience as described in '1' above
