Job Description
The Community Liaison will represent the Mayor in each of their citywide communities, facilitating civic participation and building relationships with community leaders and organizations. The role involves developing campaign plans, collecting community feedback, and making government more accessible to the community.
Requirements
Maintaining key relationships with the citywide community of their identity community.
Attending relevant community events and representing the Mayor at community events.
Developing meaningful, reciprocal, and trust-reinforcing relationships with their identity community, community leaders, community-based organizations, advocacy groups, non-profits, and policy experts related to their identity community.
Communicating quickly, effectively, and compassionately with community members and community stakeholders in times of emergencies.
Generating and executing campaign plans in coordination with other members of OME.
Collecting and sharing community feedback and innovative ideas back from their identity community with fellow OME staff, the administration, and/or relevant governmental entities.
Creating pathways to make local government more accessible and understandable to their identity community.
Serving as constituent liaison when necessary, working with senior Administration staff to respond to questions.
