Role OverviewThe Community Outreach Specialist will work in a team to conduct substance misuse prevention education and referrals to SUD/OUD treatment in Montgomery County, MD. The role involves leading community outreach, recruiting and supervising high school youth peer ambassadors, and collaborating with the Program Manager to create outreach materials and train the peer ambassadors.

The primary responsibilities include leading community outreach, recruiting and supervising high school youth peer ambassadors, providing input to the Program Manager in creating outreach materials, and collaborating with the Program Manager to train the peer ambassadors.

Requirements
- High school diploma
- Bachelor's degree in social work, behavioral health, public health, psychology, community organizing, education, communications, or another related field
- At least one year's experience successfully supervising staff
- Minimum of three years' experience working with youth, community health, community organizing, communications, substance use disorders, or social work
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills in English
- Bilingual in English/French or English/Spanish (desired)
- Fluency in using Microsoft 365/SharePoint Suite (Excel, Word, PPT, Teams, etc.), Instagram, Blue Sky, Threads, Facebook, WhatsApp, Adobe, Canva, and Zoom
- Ability to pass a federal fingerprinting and background check
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Ability to complete training upon hire: Advancing Youth Development, Child Protective Services, HIPAA, CPR/First Aid, Child Protective Services, Efforts to Outcomes, etc.
